Michelin Guide 2009

No one—not your Mom, not your sweetheart, not even your childhood puppy—was as excited to see you as manager of La Botte. “Buona Sera!” is the now-famous greeting—and just like that, you know you’re welcome. And lest all that good-natured exuberance freaks you out, the interesting things is that La Botte is also a sexy, intimate restaurant—all warm woods and romantic candlelight. The place is designed to feel like an Italian wine cellar, with built-in wine storage shelves lining the walls and dark, smoky ceilings.
And if that weren’t enough to secure the award for most well-rounded, there’s this too: the food is bold, bright, and lovely—like a silky fan of Mediterranean sea bass carpaccio, drizzled with fruity olive oil and dotted with creamy, neon-bright sea urchin; or a tangle of perfectly al dente spaghetti, swirled with tender brown lentils, smoky roasted tomatoes, and wilted fresh spinach.
